Last week on Magic Tonight

We had a wonderfully fun time. As producers go, I'm a little bit young. As such, I don't really have what it takes to stand up to veterans of the business and so people who have been doing this for a long time essentially get to do whatever they want on my show because I don't really have the guts to tell them no. This is made slightly worse when the people happen to be taller than me (which is relatively hard to accomplish.) So when the gypsy philosopher David Peck and the rubber-chicken master Matt DiSero decided they wanted to try something zany and off the wall, I was nervous. I've never seen grown men get so excited over a Jay Sankey trick....

If you missed the show, take a look at what we were up to. If you want to come join us, the show continues through the summer at the Crimson Lounge in Toronto. Readers of this blog can use the code reality for a discount on the price of tickets and dinner when purchasing online.

James Judd at Soulo in Toronto

This weekend, James Judd presented a series of one-person shows organized by Tracey Erin Smith at Soulo Theatre, his Mid-Career Retrospective as a sort of kick off for his upcoming tour in those United States I was a little busy this weekend performing elsewhere and pretending to be Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby (long story!) but I did manage to catch one fabulous and hilarious show Friday night and his storytelling workshop on Sunday afternoon. I now have things to read and stuff to work on.

The workshop was inspiring and informative. The more I do this, the more I realize that the shows I do are a strange hybrid somewhere between solo theatre and a Backstreet Boys concert.

And the shows, by all accounts were wonderfully well received. The social medias are atwitter.

Sunday night's show at the Crimson Lounge featured the purple-shoed wonder, Phil Pivnick. Typically delightful and comical. If you haven't been to see the show in a while, take a look at what you missed: (*Sadly, shoes not pictured.)

Very strange weather this week with a mix of hot hot hot and wet wet wet. All of which just serves to remind of of why I call myself an indoor magicianBut we had a wonderful time with our audiences on Magic Tonight with special guests Phil Pivnick, Ben Train and Chris Mayhew. If you haven't seen our show, take a look at some of the fun you missed! And if you recognize yourself or your friends, in any of the photos, feel free to share them.

Magic Tonight is performed weekly in Mississauga and Toronto. Readers of this blog can use the code reality for a discount on the price of tickets and dinner when purchasing online.
